Announcing the first member of the Dilworth Library ‘Millionaires Club’, Devon Du.
Our Library Team are running ‘The Millionaires Club’. It is a reading challenge with a points tally that runs all year and is open to all ākonga and Dilworth staff.
How it works:
Students and staff register for the challenge and take out their books as normal. But when they return each book, they have a conversation about it with either Lorraine or Annie, who then register the number of words in the book on their tally.
There are milestones along the way to the Millionaires Club, (50,000, 250,000, 500,000, 750,000 words) which are clearly displayed on the wall in the library. There are small rewards for milestones along the way but you need to read one million words to gain entry into the Millionaires Club.

Reaching 1,000,000 words is

We have several students at the 500,000 and 750,000 word levels – see who can join him next!
It’s not too late to join. Register in the library and then the word count of every book you read will be recorded against your tally.
