Dilworth School takes great pride in celebrating the achievements of its old boys, and today we profile Ethan Hamilton, a graduate from the Class of 2021. Ethan's journey from Dilworth to pursuing his passion in biotechnology is nothing short of inspiring.
After bidding farewell to Dilworth in 2021, Ethan embarked on his academic journey at Victoria University, where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biotechnology. His decision to delve into the realm of biotechnology stems from his innate curiosity and relentless pursuit of answers to complex questions. Ethan has always been the kind of person who never shies away from asking the tough questions, and he believes that biotechnology provides the perfect platform for him to explore and innovate.
Biotechnology, with its focus on finding novel solutions to multifaceted challenges, resonates deeply with Ethan's aspirations. His sights are set on a career path that involves becoming a microbiologist or geneticist, specializing in reproductive and developmental biotechnology. Specifically, Ethan aims to delve into areas such as in-vitro fertilization (IVF), unravelling the intricacies of genes and their functions, and devising strategies to rectify genetic anomalies at a molecular level.
Ethan's vision extends beyond the confines of academic pursuits; he harbours ambitions of utilizing his expertise on a global scale. As a recipient this year of an Ella Burford Award, which comes with a monetary tertiary grant, Ethan has a keen eye on the future, and hopes to leverage his education to work overseas, contributing to ground-breaking advancements in the field of biotechnology without the burden of student loans hindering his aspirations.
As Ethan continues on his academic journey, we have no doubt that he will achieve great things. Dilworth School is proud to have played a part in shaping Ethan's future, and we look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish in the field of biotechnology and beyond.
We wish Ethan all the best in his studies and future endeavours, and we are confident that he will make a significant contribution to the field of biotechnology.
