Teacher In Charge – Christian Education

The school is seeking to fill a full-time position as a TIC Christian Education with the ability to teach other social sciences subjects to commence in Term 3 2025. The role is primarily based at the Senior Campus in Epsom. The successful applicant will be supported to enable quality classroom teaching and learning with the opportunity to teach students at a range of year levels, depending on experience. 

Candidates should state areas of social sciences subject speciality in their application and experience across year levels.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner and lead the delivery and review of our bespoke Christian Education curriculum across the school. In addition you will be an experienced social sciences specialist, with experience teaching Years 7-13. Boarding Roles

  • Director of Boarding – Junior Campus – Full Time, permanent
  • Co-House Leaders – Fixed term for 3 years, part time
  • Weekend House Leader – Fixed Term for 3 years – part-time
  • Weekend House Coordinator – Fixed Term for 3 years – part-time

Dilworth School is seeking to fill three part-time roles and one full-time role in our boarding facility, following changes to our boarding structure.  These changes further improve student safety practices and result in a significant wellbeing and learning focus at each year level:

Director of Boarding – Junior Campus: This role holds a strategic and operational boarding responsibility, as well as leading and working in the Junior Campus boarding operation. Leadership experience is essential with a preference for experience working with youth. This is a residential role.

Co-House Leader: This role co-leads a year level boarding house, including the operation of the house itself, rostering, management of staff and the safety and wellbeing of students. This position requires leadership experience and preferably some experience working in a residential facility with youth. Morning and evening duties are required as well as some weekend duties. This is a residential role.

Weekend House Leader: This has similar responsibilities to the Co-House Leader but is the single leader in the house and is responsible for leading the “stay-back” house which supports students of differing year levels who live out of Auckland during weekends.  They will have a particular focus on ensuring engagement and enjoyment in the weekends for students, through activities and events.

Weekend House Coordinator: This role supports the Weekend House Leader, completing active shifts in the house and providing a particularly pastoral and supportive focus for students in the house. They are also responsible for supporting ākonga/student first aid and laundry needs and always ensuring safety is prioritised.  This is a residential role.

Head of Learning Area – Languages and Te Ao Māori/Tikanga Māori

  • Responsible for leading the delivery of New Zealand languages at Dilworth School with a focus on Te Reo Māori

We are seeking an experienced practitioner to lead this important aspect of our school, including classroom teaching of Te Reo Māori and Te Whare Tapere, and driving Tikanga Māori through the full school. The role is also responsible for leading and managing a small team of classroom teachers and Te Whare Tapere and Kapa Haka practitioners. They will oversee the Language’s curriculum including the delivery of Sign Language, Tongan and Samoan  - and possibly other languages in the future - on a module basis. 

Reporting to the Director of Curriculum, the successful candidate will enjoy access to a wide range of resources, the scope to grow and further develop the knowledge and skill of students and staff in Te Reo Maōri and Tikanga Māori and join a supportive and well-resourced team.

You will be an experienced and registered teacher with advanced Te Reo Māori teaching skills and a strong understanding of Te Ao Māori and Tikanga Māori. English Teacher Fixed Term

Te Pou o te Whare Karioi

  • 42 weeks of the year, 8 hours per week
  • Have a significant impact in the teaching and development  of akōnga
  • Kapa Haka Specialist 

Dilworth School is seeking to fill an important part-time role for 8 hours per week as Te Pou o te Whare Karioi. This will suit a candidate who is keen to work with a particular focus on leading the development of a strong Kapa Haka.  They will also contribute to learning in and tikanga Māori across the school.

  • You will be knowledgable and passionate about Kapa Haka, and have wider tikanga Māori and Te Reo understanding to bring to the role.
